Oxford Creators CIC was born after months of 'fighting the system' and frustration at the lack of options for under 14s to access out of school education. 

My name is Veena V, I'm a former Channel 4 award winning radio presenter, video marketing mentor and qualified clinical hypnotherapist. My 13 year old son was excluded 7 times in Year 7 and since July 2021 has been 'directed off-site'. This means he remains on-roll with his secondary school, but has been completely cut off from all education, friends and social activities. He was never permanently excluded....

He is a highly intelligent boy, glowing educational reports from teachers, focused on learning. Unfortunately, he was triggered by incidents in school due to being a victim of domestic abuse. His deep rooted trauma and anxiety was not recognised. 

Watching my son going through this horrific experience made me determined to create a better reality and future for him. I tried to fight the system to get my son the education he deserves but to no avail. I also found out there are thousands of children around the UK in similar situations.

I couldn't bear the thought of other children being left at home with no school to go to or suitable provision being provided. Rather than fighting, I am now focusing on how I can help support these children & their parents and work with forward thinking teachers to create a community of change makers.

Our most misunderstood kids are being pushed into a life which doesn't have a happy ending. These children deserve help to break patterns, they need to feel valued and they need to know they can create a life full of positive opportunities.
